Around a decade ago, when I was still a new-to-the-market wedding planner, I met a wonderful lady called Annette. She told me all about her love for the wedding industry and how she wanted to transform brides on their wedding day and help them to feel like princesses. Today she has won award after award and I’m proud to interview her here for you, our lovely wedding belles!
Q1 Tell us a little about yourself
I have a passion within me for hair and beauty and to make each and every client I look after feel like a Princess. I like to think of myself as their fairy godmother and make each one of my clients feel the most radiant, confident person they can be, especially on a day as special as the most important one of their lives, their Wedding Day.
I have never taken for granted that each one of my clients are completely unique, I have the experience, knowledge and wisdom to know exactly how to look after people and help make their dreams come true. I have an honest approach and I work to each person’s specification and am also very happy to offer ideas and suggestions which they may have not considered and then absolutely fall in love with.
I have been in the hair and beauty industry for over 40 years and it was always a personal dream of mine to one day open my own Salon dedicated to Bridal Hair and Beauty. This was accomplished when I opened my salon in October 2011 in Waterlooville, Hampshire. Prior to this I had a regular hair and beauty salon
Also a mobile consultant and travelled all over looking after clients and I still continue to travel whenever required, especially on Wedding Days to the Bride where she can be looked after in her own familiar surroundings.
I wanted to open the salon to specialise in bridal hair and beauty. To take the bride and transform her into a natural beauty offering facials for perfectly flawless skin as well as lash extensions if she wanted. I also offer Tanning, manicures, pedicures and waxing.
I always feel I have worked my magic to make them look amazing and am filled with a warm, fluffy, bubbly feeling and a great sense of personal achievement when I see the smiles on their faces. I can get emotional when I see brides completed especially when they are glowing and full of radiance, confident that they look and feel awesome.
Q2 What made you want to work in the wedding industry?
From the early days of my apprenticeship I have always had a passion with long hair styling. When I had my first salon I only did regular hair and beauty and would get so excited if we had a bride in. It was hard fitting in brides with a busy column full of regular clients so I decided to take the leap by selling the salon and open a salon dedicated to the special occasion hair, weddings, prom etc Doing everything to make everyone feel especially pretty – I’m happy to say I love the wedding industry.
Q3 What do your clients love about you and your work?
They love the peace and serenity of the salon. Don’t know what they love about me haha. It might be I help them to feel calm ?
Q4 What do you think makes a good wedding?
Everything coming together with all the love and atmosphere
Q5 What’s been your favourite wedding so far?
I have loved every wedding so far, they are all so individual it would be hard to pick just one
Q6 What is your top tip for couples?
Stay calm, enjoy the day. If anything goes wrong don’t let it spoil your day. No body knew what you had planned so they are not going to notice.
